Meet Kailey
Kailey Riker is a speech-language pathologist with 15 years of experience working with children, educators, and families across school and clinical settings. Much of her work has centered on helping students access learning and communication throughout their everyday environments.
Her experience in schools has given her a firsthand understanding of the important role paraprofessionals and educational support staff play in student success, as well as how often these professionals are asked to support complex learning and communication needs with limited role-specific training.
In addition to her clinical and school based work, Kailey has taught graduate level courses for future speech-language pathologists and is the co-author of children's books designed to support speech, language, literacy, and learning. Across each of these roles, her focus is the same: translating specialized knowledge into practical strategies that can be understood and used in the real world.
Kailey developed Supporting Student Communication to bring that approach directly to educational support staff, providing practical tools they can use throughout the school day to increase student participation, independence, and access to learning.
Based in Northern Michigan, Kailey continues to work directly with students and school teams while developing professional learning opportunities for educators and support staff.
